Update on the Carter Life!

So life has been a bit crazy lately with moving into our new duplex/house that we're renting.  We happened to move on a week full of RAIN which proved to be a lil tricky.  Not to mention, the rain came so fast and hard that lancaster was a flooded disaster.  Tons of basements were flooding, streets and sections of town were closing, schools were being cancelled, and it was just a mess.  My parents basement flooded the worst it ever has with about 2 1/2 to 3 feet of water. Poor dad was up practically all night trying to keep his sump pumps running and with those not keeping up with the water coming in, he had to purchase another much more powerful pump and his friend Marv had to come over with his gas-generated water pump (which was a lifesaver).  It was a very chaotic few days.  Some of us ended up getting sick from the gas fumes coming into the house- headaches, my mom nearly fainted, Kinley (our dog) was vomiting etc.  We learned our lesson:  never put a gas generator in the house!! ha.  All that to say, moving in the midst of this was difficult, but we managed to get the big stuff in before the flooding was too bad.
Our duplex is just perfect for us and we thank the Lord for providing once again!  I'll post some pictures once it looks half decent ; ) Unpacking with a baby can take awhile i've learned, but Seija has really been doing great with this new schedule (Babywise) I have her on.  Feeding every 3 hrs, waketime, then naptime and shabang- she's starting to sleep thru the night.  Last night she slept 8 hrs!  Thank you Jesus!  This past sat. me and evan worked on the house a ton and got a whole lot unpacked and organized.  We really like our owners too- they have been so nice and helpful!  Evan invited him (andy) to play soccer last tues. at calvary, so pray for him and his wife's salvation.  We're hoping he plays again and is able to see a difference in the guys.
I have my 3rd wedding this summer- Sara Villanyi's- this coming weekend in OH.  I'm excited to stay with meg, kyle, & sethie for part of the week!  I sure do miss them as I used to see them more often when we lived in IN.  Seth never fails to make me laugh and I just love his lil boyish desires...trucks, lawn mowers, cars, mator, tools, and all his expressions- "WOAH, OH NO, CARS, UH OH" etc...  He's a character!
Seija has been such a joy!  She smiles so much now and stops to talk to me when i'm feeding her- we hold our own lil conversation.  She is growing like a weed might I add.  Her clothes and PJ's are getting tighter and I've spotted bigger and more rolls on her legs- so cute. She giggled for the first time at Liisa the other day and twice now has rolled over from her belly to her back.

Here are the adorable Reid twins that we met for the first time over Labor day wkend in IN! Malachi and Elias! We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Robert and Rebecca and these boys.  Seija looks hilarious here.

Lets just say, the whole weekend went way too fast.  We visited sooo many people and had a great time- it just flew.

The water was even higher than this a few hrs later.  Mold is now taking over the basement...yuck

Seija all pretty for Kate Talbott's wedding!  This outfit is 6 months, but fits her- was just a lil big for her.  Thank you to stef who bought it!!

The wedding was beautiful!  Unfortunately we ended up being late for it and had to be seated after the bride had already walked down the aisle- embarrassing.  Then Seija let out this big cry to top it off.  : (  Our friends Katie & Garrett (in pic below) stayed with us that wkend and we had a great time with them.  They lived 5 min. away from us in IN, and we miss them lots.

Sorry for the long blog.  Hope to keep up with it more often, but we'll see how that goes what with me starting my job Oct. 10th on the unit where I delivered Seija. Anyway, have a great day and enjoy this fall weather!

Our Bundle of Joy

Can't believe how fast she's growing
Thank you Meg for this darling outfit
Nanny loves her Seija time- it's so cute
Daddy Time
Seija is so smily and happy in the mornings! She loves to talk/coo!
A bit blurry, but so cute
She has her next dr. appt. this monday.  I'm anxious to hear how much she weighs now.  I swear she looks bigger every day. She's balding on top and I can see some blonde roots coming in- which wouldn't surprise me seeing that evan and I were both pretty blonde as kids, but she definitely has some reddish tints in her hair still.

Overwhelmed by God's Goodness

The other day, I was talking with my aunt Julie about how many specific prayers the Lord has answered for me and evan this year, and she suggested I write them all down...so I thought I would share what the Lord has done in our lives from the Carter family business going under to where we are now:
Evan & I had always talked about possibly moving back to PA in future years if the Lord provided Evan with a job, however we certainly didn't expect to move so soon or for Evan to get the job with Keystone Custom Homes (and for those of you who know Evan- he's always wanted to do something with construction!)  Praise #1! After finding out we were moving, we had a lot of concerns as far as selling our home, having to pay the $8,000 back to the government for the tax credit, insurance covering my pregnancy, where we were gonna live etc.  Once again, the Lord had each detail already covered.  Our house sold by the 2nd buyer (in 2 wks) and we made a profit of over $7,000 leaving us little to pay back to the gov., Evan's insurance covered my pregnancy & Keystone pays for our deductible which means I won't have to pay anything for my delivery, Evan's parents were able to sell his pick-up truck back in IN which helped us pay back the last bit of money I owed my dad for Cedarville (just have 1 more loan to pay off now), my parents were so generous as to allow us to stay with them for 4-5 months which has saved us money and helped me out tremendously after my c-section recovery, I went into labor on my own & delivered a healthy baby girl whom we love to pieces and not to mention was on a holiday wkend which allowed evan to not take any work off so he could later on enjoy a full wk family vacation, AND we just recently signed a lease for a duplex to rent that's 2 miles down the road from my parents and they're allowing us to keep our dog!!
Furthermore, I had my 6 wk postpartum visit today and I was talking to the Dr. about job openings on the unit.  She immediately chimed in that she wanted to be a reference for me and gave me a number to call.  She was adamant that if they didn't contact me, to call her back!! Another answer to prayer as I will be looking for a part-time or PRN position hopefully in OB. I can't even tell you all the other little things that He's answered and provided for us.  What a mighty God we serve!

Whirlwind of a summer

I can't believe it's already the middle of August.  It's flying by way too fast for my liking...
Here's a quick recap of our lives this spring/summer:
We moved from IN, Evan started work at Keystone Custom Homes, we finally met our baby girl, Seija, on July 2nd after being overdue for 5 days, had lots of lovely visitors including Stef & Graham from NH, Evan's parents from IN, Kyle & Meg from OH, and then just recently Robbie (evan's brother) and his gf Katherine, was matron of honor in Ahna's wedding, went on an incredible vacation to a lake in NH for a week,  and will be traveling to IN during labor day wkend to see the rest of Evan's family and introduce them to Seija!  Not to mention, we could very well be moving here soon to a place of our own when the right opportunity comes along- all that to say, we've been busy!
